Formalities about the sale
Before you finally buy a horse, make sure you agree with the seller on the following formalities regarding the sale.
Good themes to have agreed on is:
Pre purchase vetting:
- Shall the horse pass a pre-purchase vet examination?

- Which vet should be used?
- What happens if the horse does not pass the pre-purchase examination
Contract
- Contract or not?

Can you buy the tack?
- What is included in the purchase? Saddle, bridle etc. See our article on good advices when a horse is moving in connection with a sale.
Paying and delievering
- How and when is the transfer of money made?
- How is the horse picked-up or delivered?
- When is the passing of the risk of the horse?
Important
- Remember to register the change of ownership of the horse with the relevant authorities.
